Dad's early stage of Alzheimer

Went to Dad's doc at TTSH last week to get results of his deeper psychological test and found that my dad diagnosed with early stages of Alzheimer. It worried my mom.

Dad was already losing his memory..like ask him what he did 5 minutes ago and he could not remember. Freaking us out. Anyway, doc's advice is to keep him active, and as he likes computer games to let him play solitare and let him do the usual things that he does including buying newspaper from downstairs and coming over our place.

Mom was stressed. Poor thing! She was really worried for my dad and every instance keep watch over him. While we try to let mom know that she needs to let go, guess its very hard as she has been constantly looking after him. This could be the cause why she fell ill after that.

Lynne bought a PC for dad in IT Show. Dad is on some sample drugs to slow down his deterioration of his brain cells. I just hope to be able to spend more time with him and so that he would remember all of us including his grandkids.

Dad is one of the most unassuming person i know. Never did he scolded us. We always confided in him as he was the broad minded one. He kept everything to himself. He also never spent a penny on himself such that we had to buy his new year shirts and wallet during christmas. All he ever bought was his underwear, singlet and socks. The rest went to our education and household. With a miserable pay of $1k+ as a clerk and later senior clerk. we had a house, a car and part-time maids and sent me to university with it.

He was selfless.

It really pains me to think that one day, my dad may not recognise me. I will just shower him with our love during this period of time.

God will always protect him.
