So I thought Mid Autumn Festival was still a couple of weeks away and I still had time to do my mooncakes.. and boy was I wrong. Found out last week that it was yesterday, I bought my ingredients a couple of days back and bought the Salted eggs only on Friday and some more on Saturday.
Was gungho this year and wanted to try to do the Flaky Skin Yam Mooncake as well as the traditional baked and snow-skin.
So here's picture of my mooncakes...

of course the baked couldn't be eaten as it was hard and have to wait for 3 days for it to be soften :( forunately we had some that was given to us :)

my snowskin mooncake..my favourite

This Yam mooncake was deep fried (used lots of oil) and I loved it, made the inside yam paste myself..just thought it was not sweet enough.. but delicious crust. So here are the good ones..the ones my daughter tried to roll was flat without the spirals.
So Here is my younger daughter helping me knock the mooncake out of the mould. Show you how she did it... very pro..haha!
So that was my Saturday. I took 9 hours to complete making 3 types of mooncake, about 12 pcs each. Yummy!
