2nd week of 40-day fast - Reality Check

Today's topic - defaulting on repentence. Jeremiah Ch 4

What strike me was this explanatory text:

"We have learned a lot about prayer lately. We’ve been told that prayer can transform cities and nations and even shape history. And that’s true. But it’s only half true. What they didn’t tell us—or maybe they did but we just weren’t listening—is that prayer is not enough. Revival that transforms a nation begins with repentance—deep, soul-searching repentance.
There are no shortcuts. Outward expressions of faith alone are not sufficient. Jeremiah calls for a radical and ruthless repentance that springs from the heart.
"

And to be effective in our prayer, we need to seek repentence.

Mark 4
18 And others are those sown among the thorns: these are the ones who hear the word, 19 but
the cares of the world, and the lure of wealth, and the desire for other things come in and choke
the word, and it yields nothing. 20 And these are the ones sown on the good soil: they hear the
word and accept it and bear fruit, thirty and sixty and a hundredfold.

I want that fruit - thirty and sixty and a hundredfold. Many times we try and it gets difficult. But God will restore.

May your Holy Spirit guide us, each individual one of us Lord, especially Alastair as the head of the household for repentence and bear the fruit for you.
